About John Long

John Louis Long Jr. born December 4, 1940 to John and Bethel (Eggers) Long. He was the oldest of 8, 4 sisters and 3 brothers. In 1958 he joined the Army. He then met Sandy and had two children, Ray (1960) and Cheryl (1962). He retired in 1978. In 1979 he married his childhood friend, Elsie Glaze. They met in Tindall Town (used to be on Holt Rd.) in 1953. They had one daughter, Mary (1981). He worked as a computer operator for Grain Dealers Ins. from 1978-1997, then worked as a security guard. When he passed he had 4 grandkids: Lindsey, Devin, Hannah, and Mamie. Since his death two more have been born: John and Bethel. One great grandchild, Wyatt.
