About James Slayton

James was a beloved brother, son, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend.

James had a love for fixing things and many times was found taking things apart just to figure out how to put them back together again.

James was great at many things, many people were unaware of he enjoyed drawing, sketching, writing songs, and fixing anything.

James is survived by his parents George & Cindy, sister Becky(Scott), Nephew Dakota, Niece Savanna, Aunts, Uncles, and many cousins

James has joined in heaven his Grandparents Julia & Donald Bish and Grandparents Lois & George Slayton Sr

James Slayton's Legacy

James William Slayton was born October 30, 1987 in Tucson, AZ to George & Cynthia Slayton. James came home to a big awaiting family including grandparents, aunts, uncles and of coarse the proudest person of all his big sister Becky who at that time thought she was getting a puppy!

Well James turned out to be far from that puppy his sister was hoping on getting but he did follow her around the house, begged and on occasioned rolled over :)

Christmas 1991: James tip toed in his sister's room to sleep on her floor to await Santa's arrival well to his surprise Santa comes in and tells James, "shouldn't you be sleeping in your own bed?" James jummped off that floor so high and screamed!

Disneyland 1993: James was egarly awaiting his visit with Mickey Mouse him and his sister stood by Mickey and waved to his Dad holding the camera when all the waving was done Mickey lend over and Kissed James on the head, James bolted so fast in a freenzy he was almost on his mom's head!

Fall 1996: James, Becky and their Dad took there first trip to Carlsbad Caverns ya the cave was a nice touch but shopping for fireworks now that was a trip. James couldnt wait to get those babies home!

Winter 2004: James became a pround uncle to a little man that would rule his life and share his name Dakota James. James being the only uncle was the 1st person to hold his nephew after he was born, he cried like a little baby.

Dakota then became James's "puppy dog" following him everywhere and did everything with his Uncle J.

James loved helping his family when he could and hanging out with friends. James tried his hand at BMX bike racing and won two 2nd place trophies.

James set out to explore more then just home, that exploration lead him to Colorado, Vegas, and Los Angelas.

James took his journey to heaven to meet up with his Grandparents Donaald & Julia Bish and Grandparents Lois & George Slayton Sr on April 5, 2009.

He is survived by his loving parents George & Cynthia Slayton, sister Rebecca(Scott) Baldwin, his nephew Dakota and Niece Savanna. As well many others who loved him. James was a son, brother, nephew, uncle, cousin and friend.

Forever in Our Hearts!

Death Is Nothing
~ Henry Scott Holland

Death is nothing at all.
I have only slipped away into the next room.
I am I, and you are you.
Whatever we were to each other, that we still are.
Call me by old familiar name,
speak to me in the easy way which you always used.
Put no difference in your tone,
wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.
Laugh as we always laughed at the
little jokes we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.
Let my name be the household word that it always was,
let it be spoken without effect,
without the trace of a shadow on it.
Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same as it ever was; there is unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
I am waiting for you, for an interval,
somewhere very near, just around the corner.
All is well."

I was james' kindergarten teacher and just today found out that he had passed. I just wanted to extend my deepest sympathy to becky and cynthia. I'll always remember james as funny, hyper kid. I can see him with his cowboy boots and black hat. Ican hear him laugh and as i sit here looking at old pictures i can't help but feel so sad at the loss of such a young life, so full of hope and possibility. May you rest in peace james.
